VALUES AND VIOLENCE: Intangible Aspects of Terrorism

The 2007 conference, featuring leading political, legal, and economic theorists of our time, was the first in an ongoing, multi-disciplinary series of lectures and forums held at the University of Utah focusing on human rights, nonviolent solutions to world issues, and universal values. In addition to invited guest speakers, this conference was organized and includes presentations from a diverse cross-section of the university's colleges and departments, including: the departments of anthropology, economics, geography, political science, psychology, and sociology from the College of Social & Behavioral Science; the S.J. Quinney College of Law; and the departments of history, philosophy, and communication. Issues and approaches were framed through an 18 month-long series of working sessions and seminars.
